Once this old lady came to (my job) in my section….she calls me handsome as I greet her but I pay it no real attention…as I bring her food she asks me to walk away slowly “I like a nice show with my meal” (yes I did oblige my audience I’m not ashamed)….I brought her check she says “so can I have you for dessert??”……Ew……….(I told her for the right price)….
Dew drops breaking in his face as he glides through a huge fluffy nimbus, the paraplegic heir of the largest distribution cartel in the world sighed and stretched out his limbs.
“This is always so relaxing,” he thought out loud. Ever since he was a child, Bartie wanted to fly more than anything else in the world. Knowing, however, that without the help of some contraption he’d never have the ability to dip in and out of the clouds at will. So every night his nanny, Pritti, induces the same dream. Yet, somehow tonight’s version seems a little…weird….
WHOOSH!!! As Bart begins his nightly regiment of aerial somersaults, an UFO zooms right into him. Startled and panting, Bartie jolts from his sleep, chokes on a cloud of dust and debris as he puts on his glasses, and scans his room for whatever just made the huge hole in the wall by the window above his nightstand.
“Cough, cough…whew…damn, that hurt…,” an unfamiliar voice called from the hole where Bartie’s closet door used to be. The frightened teenager grabbed the nearest blunt object, a 3ft remote control Godzilla, from under his bed.
“W-wh-who’s there?! Sh-sh-show yourself right now or I’ll…attack!!” Bartie’s words were shaky, though he was trying to sound as brave as possible. The lights flickered as the tall, unbruised stranger in black stood up and stepped out of the closet. Bartie couldn’t get a good look at his face.
“Calm down, no need for violence,” said the stranger as he cleared his throat and brushed himself off. “Sorry about the room, kid, though it looks like you can afford at least 20 more. Later.”
Just as quickly and messily as he entered the room, he vanished. Bartie watched, frozen and wet from fear, as the mysterious stranger flew away into the night. Bartholomew Joshua Wilcoxington has, for the first time in his life, witnessed his greatest fantasy, an impossibility, become reality; and soon it will obsess him forever….
